The Milan-Cortina Olympics will be the first Winter Olympics to take place in Italy since 1956, when Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted the XI Winter Olympics. The sports disciplines At the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, 15 sports disciplines will be contested, for a total of 109 events. The sports disciplines are: Alpine skiing, Cross-country skiing, Ski jumping, Nordic combined, Freestyle, Snowboard, Figure skating, Artistic ice skating, Short track, Ice hockey, Biathlon, Curling, Rodibatti. The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics are an event awaited with great enthusiasm in Italy.
