
Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cambridge UK
Rome/Cambridge [ENA] After the great success of the previous editions, including the 2024 one at La Sapienza University of Rome and the 2023 one at the University of Cambridge, the long-awaited International Conference “Bridge between Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine” began today, June 6, 2025, now in its sixth edition, consolidating the dialogue between two great medical traditions – the Western biomedical one
and the Eastern energetic-philosophical one – in a scientific context of the highest level. The theme of the 2025 edition is “Mitochondria, Microbiology, Oral Microbiota and the Principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine” The focus of the debate will be on mitochondria as regulators of cellular energy, systemic microbiology and oral microbiota as indicators of integrated health. The most advanced research on these topics will be compared with the visions of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a view to diagnostic and therapeutic integration. Giada Ying Zhao organizes and manages international conferences with great professionalism and dedication. As a director she is able to combine strategic vision and attention to detail. Her leadership is distinguished by meticulous planning,
impeccable management of resources. Foad Aodi Contract professor at several Italian universities, including the University of Tor Vergata and the University of Pavia, in fields such as Nursing Sciences, Physiotherapy, Diagnostic Cardiovascular Imaging, and Ozone Therapy. Medical Director of the Salvetti Group, which includes three rehabilitation centers in Rome, and of the Iris Italia Specialist Polyclinic. Founder and President of various organizations, including the Association of Doctors of Foreign Origin in Italy (AMSI), the Arab World Communities in Italy (Co-mai), the movement “United to Unite,” and the Euro-Mediterranean Medical Union (UMEM). Member of several national and international health commissions.
A committed promoter of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, he has organized over 900 professional and cultural conferences, receiving numerous institutional awards, including plaques from the President of the Italian Republic. Lucio Sotte: During his career, he has written over 60 books dedicated to the different areas of Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, pharmacology, dietetics, massage and medical gymnastics. His works have been published by numerous Italian and international publishing houses, contributing significantly to the diffusion of Traditional Chinese Medicine both nationally and internationally. In addition to his publishing activity, Dr. Sotte has taught acupuncture and Chinese medicine since the 1980s
in prestigious schools and numerous Italian universities. He has served as scientific director of the “Rivista Italiana di Medicina Tradizionale Cinese” and as president of the Society of Chinese and Traditional Pharmacology based in Rome. Sun Wei 孙伟 is the President of the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre (CCCC) in Cambridge, England. In this role, he is actively engaged in community leadership and cultural promotion. Notably, in 2018 he was appointed as a delegate to a major united front organization, a testament to his significant role in fostering links between the Chinese community and broader social structures.
