Amsterdam [ENA] On Friday, May 17, 2019, on the eve of the elections to the European Parliament, the Changemakers Debate 2019 will take place in De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. Developments in climate discussion follow each other at a rapid pace. Energy transition, climate tables and CO2 reduction are widely present.

Robert Claasen, Executive Director Chemelot, Maarten Labots, Chairman Young Climate Movement, Herman Russchenberg, Director TU Delft Climate Institute, Anna Schoemakers, Director Greenpeace Netherlands, and Eric Vennix, Industry Leader Energy & Resources Deloitte will discuss climate issues and possible solutions. From their role as a changemaker, the speakers address questions such as: what solutions for climate problems are there, what are the options and who bears which burden? The guide for the Changemakers Debates are the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) that were signed by 193 countries in 2015 and that together form the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This time they are aligning with SDGs related to energy transition.

The debate takes place on Friday 17 May. From 4PM until 6PM at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. While you are there you can also admire the World Press Photo 2019 Exhibition, the famous international photo competition. As usual, over 150 award-winning images and videos can be seen, the winning photo of the year and, now for the first time, the winning story of the year. There will also be work by two Dutch photographers, Jasper Doest with Flamingo Socks and Pieter ten Hoopen with his photo story The Migrant Caravan.
