Teatro Fontana [ENA] I'm happy only when I work...…In moments! The title already expresses the point of view of the narrators. It is a sort of narrated document suitable for our times, where we are surrounded by too much information, too many distractions, that we get lost in them, or we like to think so.

It is as if Woody Allen wrote the document. The play is "a dialogue on desperation", a show for those who love what they do in their workplace, therefore know how to grasp the positive aspects of what they do, but at the same time "they" hate it because it enters in "a vortex of unresolved issues"...Veltroni is mentioned in Maurizio Crozza's version. During the show the rights of workers are debated, as well as those of the employer.

"Only recreation is left" they say, moreover, with much regret and pain for the nostalgics the working class no longer exists. I'm happy only when I work" we have fun and laugh a lot, but after all there is a real investigation about the current Italian working condition. The themes are very topical such as precariousness before and after but also beyond that, to the new frontiers of possible new slavery with examples of self-exploitation, sometimes not easy to recognize and stop, you want for the most disparate reasons.

In this show no one claims to give or have certain answers, only life experiences made of discomfort are shared which with lightness, irony and some outburst against the shift manager, "managed" to give life to a special alchemy between Lorenzo and Niccolò, and the "audience". The reflections we come across are "about" work, "about" professional personal vocation and salary, "about" capitalism, "about" the time of life spent working, "about" the working meals eaten by oneself and "about" despair. The viewer wonders how much he identifies "himself"... and "how" this is reflected... We enter in a vortex and wonder more or less sincerely how much our private life enters into "our" work and defines us.

The questions continue undaunted about who we are outside of working hours or how much we manage to stand in front of another person while conversing, without first knowing the profession exercised by it. Many other questions will arise between the two interpreters during the dialogue on stage. A wonderful and enjoyable conversation for everyone, from those who love their boss, to those who hate him, for those who are their own boss and love and hate themselves, for all workers who work too much but also for those who work too little, for those who are updating their curriculum and for those who are creating a "Startup", for those who are thinking of leaving their job and for those who are starting a new one.

For the new generations, no boundaries between work and life have been lost: our person is largely defined by the work we do. We are "on the spot" all day, every day, as someone says... "Always ready to invoice!". The two interpreters are poles apart: Lorenzo self-entrepreneur who hires himself asking for absolute availability. He has a narcissistic love and hate relationship with himself as a colleague, dating in the company and during corporate socialization moments. Niccolò is also an entrepreneur of his own but with a stick and a carrot... From flexible hours but then reproaches himself for the flexibility given. Niccolo entrepreneur dreams of fame, praise and high prices on the stock exchange.
